Acer Aspire AS1410-8804 11.6-Inch Black Laptop - 6 Hour Battery Life Reviewed by K. Young (Canada)
Satisfied Rating (10/10)
I have owned a HP 2133 Mini Note and Acer 1410, but 1000HE Asus Netbook seems the perfect solution. The size of the device is not much bigger than a 10.2 "netbook, but the high resolution 11.6" screen makes it a pleasure to use for 50 + eyes. The performance of the Core 2 Solo is much better than the Atom with only a slight decrease in battery life. The battery would be even better (8 hours to 6 hours) and the battery of 5,600 amp was made available in North America as in Europe. The 1410 is thinner than any of my other netbooks and weighs about the same.
Other advantages over the standard Atom Netbooks is that the 1410 accepts up to 4 GB of RAM and a Core 2 Solo is a 64-bit processor, use a 64-bit operating system. The keyboard is full size.
Netbooks on my way, I always feel that I'm giving up something, whether it is performance, screen resolution or a display that can be used without eyes. Or

| Review by Jeffrey Hyman (USA) 2010-03-09 The look and feel of this laptop is great and I really really want to like it, but the battery life is absolutely horrific. I expect at least 4 hours of solid use out of a thin and light. This thing averages barely 2.5 hours off a full charge with the screen set at the dimmest level. The worst part.... | Review by AGUIRRE Andres (SPAIN) 2010-02-13 I bought this laptop in December 2009 and I have been using it ever since at work and at home. Before buying it, I did an extensive research comparing similar laptops (Asus, Toshiba, Acer) within the thin and light category. The main reasons why I bought it were: 1) Aluminum chasis: It... | Review by Boogaloo (USA) 2010-03-11 I chose this feature rich machine as offering more than any other when it is on sale. My primary use is business with occassional field trips, which could be done with aplumb with a slightly more dated dual-core CPU upwards of $200 less with better battery life. But, the sale price made it possibl... Read more reviews | ||

| Review by D. Burrows (NORTH GEORGIA) 2010-03-08 So far I am quite happy with my new DV6-2170US. It is not destined to run software that will tax it, but after my first week it has performed well with the applications I have. Technical support from HP was awful, but I expected that. (During the process of making Office 2003 operational I was in... Read more reviews | ||
